[PureInsight.org] January 27, 2006 is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 250th birthday. Needlessly to say, there will be a lot of musical festivals to honor this great classic music composer. What on earth makes Mozart's music so appealing after hundreds of years?

There are a lot of highly admired great composers in the history of western classical music, but none of them shares the same characteristics as Mozart. I believe that we love Mozart because of his natural innocence and kindness, which is manifested in his natural and nearly perfect music that touches the soul of everyone who longs for pureness and glory. His nearly perfect, ethereal and yet humane music has comforted countless minds for over 200 years.

Many medical researches have confirmed that Mozart's music has the best healing effect on many illnesses, such as epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease and psychological trauma. Mozart's music has also been found to speed up the development of young children's brains. In addition to its magical healing effect, Mozart's music is the best choice for expecting mothers. However, experts and scholars have not been able to find out why Mozart's music has more healing effect than that of Bach, Hayden, Beethoven or any other classic music composer.

In my humble opinion, the key is Mozart's disposition and personality because good music comes from a good disposition. There is a Chinese saying: "A man's music is his extension." Since childhood, Mozart had been a very innocent and passionate person. When he was about 3 to 4 years old and not yet an accomplished pianist, Mozart began to look for notes that loved each other. He believed that music is about putting together notes that love each other. After he grew up, Mozart was inept at managing his career, but his passion and love for humanity never changed. For Mozart, musical harmony represented harmony between people, kindness and love. Music was friendly communication and dialogue for him. Listening to Mozart's music is comparable to receiving kindness and love. It gives one a warm, affectionate and joyful feeling. How can this type of music not be benevolent to its audience?

There are different types and different levels of love in Mozart's music. There is romantic love. There is love between friends. There is forgiveness and tolerance. There is solemn and sacred compassion. Those are the most precious and noble love and virtues. While expressing rich emotions and noble character, Mozart's music is never overly emotional. It is in compliance with the Chinese old-school principles of music creation, "Joyful but not ecstatic; sad but not devastated." The only thing that Mozart expressed completely without reserve is "Truthfulness" and "Compassion" in his divine nature.

In his experience on water crystals, Dr. Masaru Emoto has proved that harmonious and kind messages can make water form beautiful water crystals. Similarly, pure and kind messages are immensely good for a person's physical and psychological health. With the information in mind, it is not difficult to understand why Mozart's music is more healing than that of any other classical music composer. Mozart's music builds a benevolent communication with its audience. The message coming from his music is love, harmony, forgiveness, light, innocence and pureness. Naturally, neither wise but austere Bach, painfully struggling Beethoven or any composer in the Romantic Period was able to deliver such benevolent music.

Let's enjoy Mozart's kind music this year! You will feel loved when listening to Mozart's piano and violin sonatas. You will feel solemnity and compassion when listening to his Mass and Requiem. You will feel as though you were soaring in the sky when listening to his piano concerto. You will feel tacit understanding in friendship when you listen to his string quartet. If you are interested in knowing how Mozart wittily analyzed human nature, you might well listen to his operas. You can almost see him smile at you and smile back at him when you listen to his music.

If more and more people take the time to feel the kindness in Mozart's music, the world is bound to become a better place.
