My Impression After Watching the Dance “Kind Thought Leading to Buddhahood”

[PureInsight.org] When I watch Shen Yun performances, I’m always inspired by the upright principles demonstrated in terms of human beings’ behavior. I never had such a feeling as I grew up watching the wicked Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) performances. The CCP’s performances have been misleading audiences with their nasty and low-quality stories, which destroy human beings’ nature. In contrast, Shen Yun performances are pure and beautiful. They have demonstrated the traditional Chinese culture. They are like a clear fountain that cleans people’s minds that have been polluted in this world. They bring forth a person’s conscience and kind thoughts.

I have been inspired by the dance “A Kind Thought Leads to Buddhahood.” In this dance, two cynical teenage boys visit a temple. It started raining and one of the boys suddenly has a kind thought towards a Buddha statue in the temple; he takes off his jacket to shelter the statue from the rain. The Buddha appreciated the boys’ kindness and appeared in their dreams, teaching them to correct their bad habits and become upright men. The two youths follow the Buddha’s teachings and correct their bad behavior. Afterwards, the Buddha gave them a Buddha’s book of Scripture that would lead them towards Buddhahood.

I understood from the dance a principle from ancient Chinese culture that respecting Buddha is a good deed and will bring people good fortune and lead them to Buddhahood.

This performance reminds me of what is happening in China. Falun Gong is a method of Buddha Law cultivation. Many people throughout the world have been practicing Falun Gong. However, in Mainland China, the evil CCP unscrupulously suppresses Falun Gong and blocks the spread of Falun Gong. Consequently, the Chinese people in China are ill-informed and know little about the truth of Falun Gong; many people there do not know that Falun Gong is a cultivation practice of Buddha Law. The evil CCP has lied to them about Falun Gong, and the Chinese people, in turn, use the evil CCP’s culture and thoughts to go against Falun Gong.

Traditional Chinese culture emphasizes the principle that respecting Buddha is a good deed and will bring good returns, and desecration of deities will result in huge sins; good and bad deeds will be met with due returns. Human beings will suffer disasters and go to hell to repay their bad deeds. These kind Falun Gong practitioners take the risk of being caught by the CCP when they clarify the truth about Falun Gong to the Chinese people. After hearing the truth, many Chinese people with good consciences recite, “Falun Dafa is good.” They’ve been rewarded for doing this good deed. Often, their poor health has been improved. Some of them were even terminally ill but were cured without any medical treatments. This is because of their sincere belief in the principles of Falun Gong. There are many examples of good deeds resulting in good rewards according to the heavenly law. These good deeds will also lead these people to cultivate towards Buddhahood in the future.

Shen Yun Performing Arts is demonstrating the extensive and profound Chinese traditional culture, and this is of far-reaching significance.
