[PureInsight.org] According to Chinese language news reports, a dusty weather storm began to attack the majority of northern China at noon on April 27, 2005. The large amount of dust has significantly reduced the outside visibility. Moreover, many people found it difficult to breathe because of the dust in the air.

According to news reports, between the afternoon of April 27 and the morning of April 28, very sandy weather storm prevailed over mid-west Inner Mongolia, northern Ningxia Province, northern Hebei Province, northern Shanxi province, Tianjin area, southern Jilin Province and northwestern Liaoning Province. In mid-west Inner Mongolia, the sandy weather turned into a sandstorm. The sandy weather storm has impacted 79 million residents in 226 counties and cities in seven provinces. The area of impact was over 840,000 square kilometers. The dusty weather and sandstorm covered over 9.7 million hectares of farming land, over 980,000 hectares of forests, and over 41 millions hectares of prairie land.

According to meteorologists, this is the third time this spring that Beijing has been attacked by dusty weather. It is also the worst dusty weather Beijing has suffered from this year. The dusty weather began at 4:00 am of April 28, 2005. The visibility range has been reduced to 2 to 4 kilometers. Beijing suffers from severe air pollution.

On April 18, 2005, a massive sandstorm attacked northern China. In some areas of Gansu Province, the visibility reduced to zero as the air was filled with dark sand. At the same time, thunder and lightning bolts shattered the sky of Beijing at night, but there was no rain afterwards.
