Pursue Nothing and Gain Naturally

A Dafa Practitioner in Taiwan

PureInsight | June 7, 2007

[PureInsight.org] The building
where I live has a management center. The staff who work there are
indifferent to Dafa, neither for nor against. I have exerted a lot of
effort just to put up a poster. Recently a member of that office was
injured. He was very depressed and was afraid that he might be fired
for taking two many sick days off. My husband knows many people in the
field of medicine and is also very knowledgeable in legal matters. I
was hoping that my husband could help him. Later, I realized my
intention: If my husband helped him, he would later help me in doing
Dafa work. Is this the right kind of mentality? Even though it was for
Dafa and not for myself, can I think in this manner?

There is a purpose for my being nice to him. Everyday people know the
principle of "repaying a favor"and so my intention is incorrect.

Cultivators should not meddle in the affairs of everyday people.
However, being concerned is all right. Otherwise others would think
that Falun Gong practitioners are odd. We certainly do not want to
bring shame to Dafa. But what should we do to be a good person then?
That is why I said that it is fine to be concerned about other people.
It's just that we need to be clear about our motives and not be
attached to results and not be moved during the process.

In the past, I did my best to help others whenever I could with no
intentions of getting certain results or rewards. Everyday people will
recognize the goodness of Dafa disciples and then assimilate to Dafa.
That is "pursue nothing and gain naturally."
