[PureInsight.org] The annual ten-day Calgary Stampede festivities kicked off on July 3, 2015. Calgary Falun Gong practitioners and some foreign practitioners were invited to the celebration. Canadian defense minister Jason Kenny specifically came to take a photo with Falun Gong practitioners. He also commended in Chinese, "Falun Dafa is good!"
Calgary is known as the Cowboy Capital. The Stampede, which includes catering, entertainment, tourism, business and more, contributes immeasurably. As a cultural brand, the Stampede attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists around the world as well as numerous businessmen and politicians to participate every year. Due to the large number of participants, audience members, route length and high audience ratings, the Stampede’s first day parade is the second largest parade in the world. There were over 4,000 people and seven hundred horses participating this year.
Falun Dafa practitioners won the audience members’ cheers and applause with their bright spirits, vibrant colors and impressive procession.
The Falun Gong parade consisted of the Divine Land Marching Band, traditional Chinese floats, fairy team and waist drummers.
The beautiful lotus float was very unique as it adopted the design elements of the Chinese tower and tracery wall. Falun Gong practitioners presented the exercises leisurely and elegantly. Ladies in Tang costumes waved to the audience. Fairies dancing with pink fans were very popular among the kids. The graceful actions and uplifting drumbeat from the waist drummers refreshed the audience.
The Divine Land Marching Band is considerably popular in Calgary. Over the past few years, the team received many awards at Stampede parades and community shows arranged by several organizing committees. This year, the orchestra was selected as the Best Senior Band in the 2015 Calgary Stampede and the Best Canadian Band.
The audience was very impressed by the Divine Land Marching Band’s outstanding performance. It seemed like they were surrounded by powerful and warm energy when the orchestra approached. Mr. Fu from Wuhan, China said it was the first time he has heard this orchestra’s performance. He never thought the sound quality would be so melodious with such impressive grandeur. He feels ineffable excitement. The following performance in the city center pedestrian street was welcomed genuinely. An audience member buried himself in the live music and reluctantly watched the orchestra leave. He then asked the people around anxiously, "When will be their next show?"
Canadian defense minister Jason Kenny, who has served successively as the minister of Immigration, Multiculturalism and Employment and Social Development, showed up in the audience once again when the Divine Land Marching Band performed in the city center. He was welcomed enthusiastically by the audience and the Divine Land Marching Band. The orchestra members and Jason Kenny took a group photo. Jason also expressed his appreciation and support for the Divine Land Marching Band by chanting in fluent Chinese "Falun Dafa is good".
