1. Burning with Red Hot Objects

"Grilling the Human" – Burning with Red Hot Objects

"Grilling the Human" is one of the cruelest tortures that Falun Gong practitioners have been subjected to in Chinese police torture chambers, forced labor camps, forced brainwashing center and prisons.

The Chinese police often burn Falun Gong practitioners' faces with cigarettes, which create horrible dark dents and scars. Some Chinese police would also deliberately ruin the looks of young, beautiful female Falun Gong practitioners by burning their faces in order to force them to renounce their belief in Falun Gong.

There are many variations of the Grilling the Human torture: The Chinese persecutors burn Falun Gong practitioners on the face, including the eyebrows and chin, the backs of their hands, lower arms, elbows, thighs and private areas. Some Chinese police even burn Falun Gong practitioners' chests and thighs with hot iron rods.

2. Punitive Force-Feeding

Punitive Force-Feeding

This is another torture police commonly use on practitioners and is the number one cause of death among Falun Gong practitioners so abused. Almost every Falun Gong practitioner who has gone on a hunger strike in forced detention has suffered from abusive forced-feeding. Many practitioners not even on hunger strikes have also been tortured using this method.

The purpose of criminal force-feeding is never to nourish, but rather to punish practitioners and to cause so much pain that they will renounce their belief in Falun Dafa. To that end, the police have used many different methods to cause excruciating pain and injury, including: repeatedly inserting and withdrawing the feeding tubes, leaving the feeding tube in the stomach, knocking off teeth during force-feeding, force-feeding highly concentrated saline solution, vinegar, hard liquor, hot pepper oil, mustard oil, boiling water, urine and feces. Many Falun Gong practitioners who have survived the repeated torture of force-feeding are still suffering from the severe injuries the forced feeding has done to their organs.

The Chinese police use punitive force-feeding to inflict physical and psychological torment on Falun Gong practitioners. It is excruciatingly painful as well as humiliating to be force-fed saturated salt-water, hot pepper juices, hard alcohol, detergent, urine and feces. Some Chinese police, for their sadistic enjoyment, even order prisoners to heap on additional abuse during these force-feedings. For example, the Chinese police would order prisoners to pump air into Falun Gong practitioners' stomach after force-feeding them saturated salt-water, and then ordered inmates to stomp hard on practitioners' stomach to eject the saturated salt-water and in the process burn practitioners' eyes and noses. Or, when Falun Gong practitioners suffer from persistent diarrheas as a result of being forced-fed with any of the aforementioned substances, the Chinese police would deny them the access to the restroom, tie them upside down to a metal gate of the cells and, for their own entertainment, watch the practitioners suffer from the humiliation of defecating on themselves.

To prevent practitioners from resisting such punitive force-feeding, the police would restrain the practitioners from moving, using various approaches such as handcuffing their hands behind the back and forcing them into heavy shackles and wearing heavy tank helmets that restrain head movements. Sometimes they would subject practitioners to the "Flying Swallow" torture prior to the force-feeding, to immobilize them.

Note: During the "Flying Swallow" torture, practitioners' lower bodies are fastened onto the floor. Six to ten police officers and inmates hold the practitioner's arms and pull backwards. Some of them bend the practitioner's head and upper body down until practitioner's foreheads touch their knees. They usually perform this torture for several hours or more than ten hours each time. The even crueler thing is that, when some practitioners are trembling all over and cannot even stand up, the police stuff them underneath a low bed, with their upper part of the body pressing down on the lower part.

3. Hanging from Hands that Are Handcuffed Behind the Back

A moderate re-enactment is shown because of the disabling consequences of the full version.

Hanging practitioners by the hands behind their backs is a torture that the police in China's detention centers and labor camps often use to force practitioners to give up their belief in Falun Gong. This is an extremely cruel torture. Being left hanging in the air for a long time will permanently disable one's arms. When being hung in the air, practitioners are usually subject to beatings with batons and clubs, as well as flogging.

4. Impaling Hands and Fingers

Right:Driving Bamboo Sticks into the Fingers Through the Finger Nails

The Chinese police often impale practitioner's hand with drill bits to force them to give up their Falun Gong practice. The victims often pass out during the torture due to the excruciating pain and bleed a lot.

There are many variations of this savage torture. The police hammer sharp bamboo sticks into the fingers of the practitioners through the tip of the fingernails. In the process of the hammering, the fingernail will become completely pried off. The police first hammer the bamboo stick into one finger. If the practitioner still refuses to yield, the police will hammer bamboo sticks into successive fingers until they mutilate all ten fingers. In another variation of the torture, the police pinch practitioners' fingertips hard with a pair of pliers or with a finger torture device. They also smash the backs of practitioners' hands with the side of sneakers with hard rubber edges, with hammers and even with electric drills.

5. The Tiger Bench

"Tiger Bench" Torture
Shown with victim tied to back support but usually done without back support so victim must lean forward to maintain balance

A victim is tied on a narrow wooden or metal bench by the thighs and knees, with hands tied behind the back. Increasing numbers of boards or bricks inserted under the feet creates excruciating pain. The police often keep practitioners on the "Tiger Bench" for a long time, until the leather strings are torn. Practitioners repeatedly and for lengthy periods of time subjected to the Tiger Bench torture often pass out in pain and feel that "this is worse than death."

The police often combine the Tiger Bench with other tortures, such as shocking practitioners with cattle prods, handcuffing their hands behind their backs, burning them with cigarettes or lighters, impaling their fingers with sharp bamboo sticks, repeatedly scraping their ribs with the sharp tips of fountain pens, hammering their cheek bones with screw drivers, violently slapping them on the face, pressing thumb tacks into their faces, and other gross abuses. One of the most savage tortures used during the Tiger Bench torture is to tie a rough rope across a practitioner's mouth, which will tear the corners of the mouth by one to two inches and cause the practitioner to be unable to close his mouth.
