Experience Sharing from the 2009 Canada Fa Conference
[PureInsight.org] In the past, I always phoned common people in Mainland China to advise them to quit the Chinese Communist Party, Communist Youth League, and the Young Pioneers. I seldom made calls for the purpose of stopping the persecution of Falun Gong because I thought the evil communist law enforcement officials were too vicious to talk with. I didn’t want to phone them until one day I read an article on the Clearwisdom website entitled “A Sweater With Knife Incisions All Over.” After reading the article, my face was covered with tears, and I was shocked by the brutal inhuman persecution of our Dafa disciples by the evil policemen. Then, a righteous thought came to my mind: “I should make phone calls to these policemen who have participated in the persecution of Dafa disciples. We should stop them from doing evil things and stop the persecution.”
At the beginning, I remember clearly that after I turned on my computer and searched for the evil policemen’s phone numbers on the Internet, when I got ready to dial the number, my whole body started shaking and I felt a chill. My heart was beating rapidly. I felt my throat was blocked and an ice-cold wind was blowing on my back. I thought that maybe the windows were open. I checked all of the windows and found them well closed. There was no wind at all. I realized that I was too nervous. Why was I so nervous? What was I afraid of? I affirmed that it was the interference from evil spirits and foul demons in other dimensions. They did not want me to make the call, so they made me feel nervous and hoped that I would give up. I sent forth righteous thoughts to clear away all the evil spirits, foul demons and communist evil spirits out of my own dimension and totally disintegrate the evil factors that interfered with my calling China. I picked up the phone and dialed the first number. I told the person on the other side, “I am an overseas Falun Gong practitioner. What you did in the persecution of Dafa disciples has been exposed overseas. All of those who participated the persecution will face retribution for their evil.” But I heard a burst of swearing at me even before I finished talking. I felt my brain was blank and couldn’t remember any sentences I had prepared. What I could speak out was only the sentence: “Evil wicked ones, don’t rush into violent action”(“Autumn Wind Is Cold,” Hong Yin Volume II). But the person on other side of the phone hung up quickly. My heart suffered a lot, and I was disappointed. I thought of giving up on calling these evil people. However, I am a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple who helps Master in Fa-rectification. How could I be affected by these frustrations? So I told myself not to think about anything else and to only care about making phone calls to China. However, after making phone calls for several days, I felt that I was very tired and didn’t get good results.
Why was it like this? I started to look inside. First, when I made the calls, I did not have a righteous mentality—I always thought that these evil policemen simply didn’t have any mercy, and what they deserved was just retribution! What I would tell them is that they would get bad luck and disasters. Of course, they would never accept that. I didn’t let them feel our Dafa disciples’ compassion at all. Secondly, when these policemen didn’t accept what I told them, I would start quarrelling with them, hoping I could smash them down with my argument. Upon finding these problems, I adjusted my mentality. Master once said in Hong Yin Volume II: “Mercy can melt heaven and earth into spring. Righteous thought can save people of the world.” I should tell the truth of Falun Gong to those people who are deceived by the evil communist party but still have some kindness in their hearts. I will tell them that they should not take part in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Furthermore, after they understand the truth, I will tell them to treat practitioners kindly and with respect. I will also tell them that only by doing these good deeds can their lives gain salvation. Even for these vicious people, though they are not savable, I still need, with the greatest mercy, to tell them that retribution is the heavenly law and nobody can avoid its penalty. In this way, the evil will be depressed and we can reduce the pressure on the Dafa disciples in Mainland China. After all, I should let anybody talking with me on the phone feel the greatest mercy Dafa disciples have.
In this way, I gradually got more experience the more calls I made and the more confident and comfortable I became. Here, I would like to share some of my methods with our fellow practitioners.
The first thing I did was to do some homework before I called them—I would write down all the points I wanted to make and all the possible questions they might ask during the conversation along with the answers I would give. Thus, I could get familiar with and remember the topics, so I could use them during the conversation.
Next, I would do my best at the beginning of the conversation to try to keep them on the line and to not hang up. I would start by saying, “I am a Falun Gong practitioner living abroad, and from Internet websites I know that you have taken part in the persecution of a Falun Gong practitioner and I’m really worried about you. I thought that you might not know the truth about Falun Gong. Is it OK if we talk a little about it?” Most of them would stay on the line with me and would not curse and yell at the other end of the phone.
Also, if the other party does not hang up the phone, I will continue to use a compassionate tone to tell him the truth. For example, I called a secretary of politics and law from a city in Shangdong. After listening to my opening speech, he asked, “Why are you so worried about me?” I replied, “I’m worried that you do not know the truth and that you do not know that you are persecuting good people.” He responded, “I know that you Falun Gong practitioners are good people but there is nothing I can do. I am following the orders of my superiors, following the rules.” In other words, he was just carrying out his orders. In response to this, I said that everyone’s actions have unavoidable consequences. All the movements that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had in the past were to incite the people who do not know the truth to persecute those deemed “enemies” by the CCP. Afterwards, in order to relieve the pressure from the world, they would conduct a fake political rehabilitation and kill off those who were at the forefront of the movement. For example, after the Cultural Revolution, the CCP executed a lot of security personnel and determined the nature of “three kinds of people,” all those who sacrificed themselves for the CCP during the Cultural Revolution. After the June 4th Massacre, the emergency guards at Tiananmen suddenly disappeared, etc. There is no good ending for those who acted as hitmen for the CCP. I also told him that with regard to the persecution of Falun Gong, all the orders have been passed down verbally. There are no important documents and no records. The one who carries out the orders shoulders the responsibility. The sinister CCP has already prepared to throw out a scapegoat. When history turns over this page and when it is time to settle the accounts of the persecution of Falun Gong, do you think you’ll be let off if you say Jiang Zemin told me to do it or the government told me to do it? I also suggest that he read the Nine Commentaries. At the same time I told him that it is the will of heaven that the CCP disintegrates. A political party that never ceases to do evil deeds, is filled with bloody debts, and has not an ounce of repentance can only be eliminated. I stated, “I am truthfully saying these things for your own good. Renounce your Party membership or any ties you have with the Chinese Communist Party. Remember: Falun Dafa is good, and truthfulness, compassion and tolerance are good. Treat Dafa practitioners well, and do not become involved in the persecution. Choose a good future for you and your family.” He listened attentively to what I said and did not argue. At the end I asked him, “Can I give you an alias to renounce your party membership?” He thought about it for awhile and then replied, “I am very grateful that you are looking out for my welfare, and I know you are sincere but I still need to think it over. We can talk another time. Thank you for telling me all this. You can call me next time.” I felt I should not be too forceful after listening to his reply. So I told him again, “Treat the Dafa practitioners well, do not get involved in the persecution and I hope you have a bright future.” He responded, “I understand, thank you.” I thought that no matter what, at least he listened to the truth clearly and consciously. It was enough to frighten the evil in his dimension and laid a foundation for him to make the right choice.
In addition, when I meet people with good manners who say that they are not involved in the persecution, I do not argue with them but tell the truth to them as if they weren’t involved in the persecution. Once I called a director of a detention center in the northeast region. When he picked up I said, “I am an overseas Falun Dafa practitioner. Do you know that the Internet has information regarding your involvement in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners? I believe you do not know the truth about Falun Dafa. Let’s chat for awhile.” He said, “I did not persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. Who said I was involved in the persecution?” “Okay,” I replied. “Then do not persecute Dafa practitioners in the future. Did you know that Falun Dafa has spread to more than 80 countries? Everyone loves truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. Only the Chinese Communist Party is persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. The difference between China and abroad is so large. Please think about it carefully.” Then I told him the truth behind the self-immolation incident at Tiananmen Square and how Jiang Zemin’s gang tried to frame and incriminate Falun Dafa. “Dafa practitioners strictly adhere to the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance and try to be a good people. Out of jealousy, Jiang Zemin’s gang used the CCP to start the nationwide persecution of Falun Gong and deceived the public. If you do not know the truth, it is easy for you to be used by the CCP and blindly follow them to do evil things. Now, it is a fact that, ‘The heavens will eliminate the Chinese Communist Party.’ ‘Renouncing your party membership assures your safety.’ All those who have become members of the Chinese Communist Party have to renounce their membership. An alias will do. Do not work with the Chinese communist party. When disaster strikes, the heavens will protect you.” At this time, I felt he was listening very intently, so I said to him, “Can I give you an alias and you can renounce your Party membership?” He replied, “I am a member, so yes thank you.” I told him right afterwards, “Treat Dafa practitioners well, protect them within your vicinity, and you will surely receive just repayment. I will also tell you nine miraculous words that can help you avoid disasters and have good fortune.” “What are they?,” he asked. I replied, “Falun Dafa is good, truthfulness, compassion, tolerance are good.” He responded, “Thank you, I’ll remember.” He then hung up the phone. Throughout the process, I held a compassionate heart. I was not impetuous or in a rush. I just had one thought, which was to tell him the truth, and I didn’t let any of my attachments hinder him from understanding the truth.
Also, I try not to let go of any predestined people when I am on the telephone. I let all of those predestined to be saved actually be saved. Another time I called a commander of a military unit. Just after I said I was an overseas Dafa practitioner, he started to curse loudly and then hung up. I did not get moved by him. I thought that I must call him again, since I can’t have the forces of evil run wild in him. Even if he doesn’t listen to the truth, at least let him know the heavenly law that there are consequences for a person’s actions. I called again but it was his driver that picked up. The driver said, “Our leader gave his cell phone to me. What is the reason you are looking for him.” I responded, “The whole world knows of his involvement in the persecution of Falun Gong. I wish he would stop persecuting Dafa practitioners and give himself and his family a good future.” The driver said, “You should tell him yourself. I cannot pass this message to him.” I said okay and continued that it is a kind of fate to be able to chat over the phone. I want to ask you, “Do you know about renouncing your Party membership?” He said he did not. I explained to him that the wave of renouncing Party membership has reached fifty million, and renouncing membership means renouncing the CCP membership because the heavens will eliminate the CCP and only by renouncing the CCP membership can your life be saved. When I said that the heavens will eliminate the CCP, he started yelling, “You Dafa practitioners always say that the heavens will eliminate the CCP. When is it going to be eliminated? Why don’t you tell me so I can be prepared.” I said, “We can discuss this calmly and there’s no need to yell. It is only a matter of time until the elimination of the CCP. If you do not renounce your membership, when the CCP disintegrates you won’t be able to see it because you will be eliminated with them. Come up with an alias and quickly renounce your Party membership. At the same time, remember that Falun Dafa is good and truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance are good. When disaster comes, it will save your life.” When I said use an alias, the driver shot back, “Don’t you guys cultivate truthfulness? Why not use real names?” I replied, “You can use your real name, but you are living in that country where if you use your real name they will find you and persecute you, so use an alias. This is the mercy of the heavens—giving people another chance. If you believe it, you will be saved. When the CCP gets eliminated, you will be able to see it.” He asked, “How do I renounce my membership?” I asked, “Are you a member?” He replied, “Yes.” I said, “Then I will give you the alias ‘Safe Hope’.” “You will be safe from now on. At the same time, remember that Falun Dafa is good and truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance are good.” He asked, “Is it that easy?” I replied, “Yes, it’s that easy. Do you know the Dafa practitioners in China are risking their lives to tell this information to others? They are saving lives.” He said, “I understand now. It is for my benefit. I am truly grateful that you are so thoughtful about me. I feel that you are very compassionate. Please quickly help me renounce my Party membership.” Afterwards, I told him about the spread of Falun Gong in different countries and the benefits of Dafa to the body and mind. He said that he also wanted to practice. He had all the Dafa books from the Dafa practitioners who are apprehended every day. The books came from confiscating family property. I said, “Now that you know the truth, do not get involved in the persecution anymore. Protect Dafa practitioners, treat them kindly and you will be rewarded.” He said, “I know what to do now.” He kept on thanking me for telling him the truth. After hanging up, my eyes became moist, again. I felt Master’s great compassion for everything.
All in all, the process of calling others to stop the persecution is one of looking inward and cultivating the heart. It is also a process of using our divine thoughts and stopping human thoughts. If we are filled with a compassionate heart and feel sympathetic towards the people who are poisoned by the Chinese Communist Party, then we can use this compassion to save them. By having this compassionate heart, all selfish desires will disappear and we can send forth powerful righteous thoughts and save sentient beings more successfully. This is the good fortune of sentient beings and is also the state that Master hopes that Dafa practitioners in the Fa-rectification period will achieve.
