[PureInsight.org] On September 21, Premier of China's State Council, Li Keqiang arrived in Ottawa, Canada at 4:30pm for a four-day official visit. He met with Prime Minister Trudeau on September 22.

On the day of Li’s arrival, Falun Gong practitioners from east Canada gathered, since early morning, between his arrival airport and Westin Hotel, where he would be staying. They held banners that read, “Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice”, "Stop the Persecution" and “Falun Dafa Is Good”, etc. Li Keqiang’s team saw the banners on their way to, and in front of the hotel. Practitioners repeatedly called out to Li Keqiang, "Falun Dafa Is Good!", "Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong!" and "Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice".

The plaintiff's Voice From Canada: Stop the Persecution and Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice

Gana, a Falun Gong practitioner in Toronto, was persecuted for her belief in China. In 2004, she filed a lawsuit to the Supreme Court of Ontario, Canada against several CCP officials involved in the persecution, including Jiang Zemin, Li Lanqing, Luo Gan and Liu Jing.

Gana previously worked at the customs office in Beijing Airport. She was kidnapped and illegally detained six times for practicing Falun Gong, and also forced into a mental hospital for persecution.

In 2001, she was illegally detained at Beijing Chaoyang District Detention Center and later transferred to the Beijing Xin'an Women’s Forced Labor Camp. They forced her into 16 hours of physical labor every day, in order to make her give up her spiritual practice. She was also forced to give blood for testing, be X-rayed, and have an electrocardiogram and eye examination during her third detention in Xin'an Women’s Forced Labor Camp.

"I was surprised at that time," Gana said. "The police in the forced labor camp treated us as below human, so why would they bother doing such a complete physical exam?”

“The persecution has lasted for 17 years and has destroyed the morals of human beings. In order to eliminate a group who believe in ‘truthfulness, compassion and forbearance’, the CCP even go so far as to harvest the organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. I come to Ottawa to appeal to the Chinese leaders to stop the persecution.”

Li Xun, Chairman of the Falun Dafa Association said in an interview that he hopes to bring Jiang Zemin, the culprit of the persecution, to justice immediately. "I hope that Premier Li Keqiang will understand the truth of Falun Gong after taking a breath of fresh air in Canada. Then he and Xi Jinping can together stop the inhumane persecution—it’s the real way to save our nation.”

120,000 Canadians Sign to End the Persecution of Falun Gong

At the front of the hotel, several Canadians were interviewed. Ms. Anne Clark, a senior legal adviser of the Canadian government said, “I had a good understanding of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.” She said, “Falun Gong practitioners have been seen petitioning in front of the Chinese embassy for several years. It is incumbent for the Canadian Prime Minister to raise human rights issues of any country, including China. Canada is a democracy and the protection of human rights is Canada’s basic value.”

Mr. Freddie Kougar said, "Why doesn’t the Chinese government allow Falun Gong practitioners to freely believe in their practice? It is the responsibility of the nation’s government when its people suffer misfortune and persecution. The Prime Minister of Canada should speak up. Falun Gong practitioners have the right to defend their beliefs.”

On the morning of August 26, before Premier Trudeau's visit to China, representatives from the Canadian Falun Gong practitioners submitted a petition with 50,000 signatures to the Prime Minister's Office. Over the following month, people from all over Canada continued to sign another 70,000 petition letter cards, giving a total of 120,000 signatures asking the Prime Minister and the Canadian government to help end the live organ harvesting and the persecution of Falun Gong.

A recent poll by the Canadian Asia-Pacific Foundation (APFC), commissioned by EKOS Research Associates found that, among 3,526 Canadians, 76 percent agreed that in dealing with Asian countries, the Canadian government should refer to human rights.

Conservative interim leader Rona Ambrose told Congress: "Our opening to China should encourage them to adopt our human rights values, not vice versa.
