I noticed during the past few days if I am in total concentration while sending out righteous thoughts, I perceive a large amount of black substances, spinning and flying from distant celestial bodies into my hands, which are in the lotus hand position. These black substances are immediately dissolved. This morning, though, my mind was not clear when sending out my supernormal powerful thoughts, and I wasn't quite able to concentrate. I also "saw" a large amount of black substances spinning and flying towards my hands this time, but once they clustered inside my hands, they spun right out - it was like playing movie footage in reverse. I tried to use my mind to force them into my hand, but it didn't work.
Sending forth righteous thoughts is a solemn and sacred matter. We must treat it seriously and pay attention to its quality. To send out virtuous thoughts well means we must be solidly grounded in our cultivation, an attribute crucial to our ability to send effective righteous thoughts.
