A Warning to Changchun: The Sandstorm

PureInsight | April 29, 2002

'When people do not have virtue, natural calamities and man-made disasters will abound. When the earth does not have virtue, everything will wither and fall. When heaven deviates from the Dao, the ground will crack, the sky will collapse, and the whole universe will be empty. When the Fa is right, the universe will be right. Life will flourish, heaven and earth will be stable, and the Fa will exist forever." (From 'When the Fa is Right" in Essentials for Further Advancement)

According to a report from a Chinese newspaper, Jilin Province was suddenly engulfed in thick sand on April 7, 2002. The fiercest of the sandstorms swept through almost all of Jilin Province; the sky of Changchun City became dusky, and visibility was only one kilometer or so. All of the scheduled flights were delayed. The experts from the Jilin Province Observatory said, "The sandstorm that landed last night has already swept through the whole area of Jilin Province. It extends to the foot of the Changbai Mountains to the east, causing serious conditions of floating dust particles. The visibility is just about one kilometer. We cannot call it a sandstorm because the wind power is relatively weak." The skies over Changchun City became more and more gray and yellow in color.

According to the reports, from April 7 to April 8, the eastern parts of Northwest China, the central and northern parts of Northern China including Beijing and Tianjin, and the central and southern parts of Northeast China have experienced sandstorms. Strong, fierce sandstorms also hit the central and southeastern parts of Neimenggu Province, northern parts of Hebei Province and Liaoning Province, western parts of Jilin Province, and southern parts of Heilongjiang Province. Floating dust and sandy weather conditions existed in the southern parts of Northern China, and in the river basins of the Huanghe and Huaihe rivers.

This large-scale invasion of sand followed close on the heels of the March 18th storm, which progressed from the west to the east across Northern China, and was the fiercest sandstorm to hit China in the last decade. The sandy weather conditions throughout all of Jiling Province are especially marked.

It is the real truth that good or bad deeds will get their respective returns. There are direct causal relationships between the series of sandstorms this year in Jilin Province and the evil persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Jilin Province. If we take a look at the evil deeds perpetrated by Jiang Zemin before this sandstorm hit Jilin Province, we can clearly see the relationship.

According to the report on the Clearwisdom.net website, since the eve of the Chinese New Year, the Changchun City Public Security Bureau has conducted a large-scale arrest of Falun Gong practitioners on successive nights. The order given at the time was that if Falun Gong practitioners are discovered in the act of putting up posters or hanging up banners, the police can "shoot to kill." Incidents of Falun Gong practitioners being shot in Heilongjiang Province and Liaoning Province have indeed been reported. However, Dafa disciples were not frightened by this evil and continued to believe in the truth. Around 8 p.m. on March 5, 2002, eight channels on the Changchun cable TV network aired something unprecedented! They broadcast several programs, including "Falun Dafa Around the World," "Self-immolation or Staged Event," and other truth-clarification videos. The broadcast lasted 40-50 minutes without any interruptions.

The monstrous crimes against the Chinese people, committed by the chief of the evil, were exposed to an audience of nearly a million. In his violent rage, Jiang Zemin gave the order: "kill without mercy." And he ordered the police in Jilin Province to conduct the large-scale arrest of Falun Gong practitioners. According to conservative statistics, up to this point over 5,000 practitioners have been abducted in Changchun City alone. The torture and death of practitioners is almost a daily occurrence. The police have secretly cremated most of the victims' bodies.

Just a few days later, on March 18, a sandstorm arose in the northern parts of China. This storm was the most massive, the strongest, and the longest-lasting storm that China has seen in a decade. And just three weeks later, another sandstorm occurred on April 7 and April 8, which hit all three provinces of Northeastern China. Yellowish sand fell in Jilin Province, and Changchun became completely dark. Could this be called a 'natural" phenomenon?

Since July 1999, Jiang Zemin and his evil cronies have madly persecuted Falun Dafa. During these past three years, the Chinese people have been blind to the persecution. A fearful prospect is opened up by these successive sandstorms: continual abnormally high temperatures and droughts, large-scale grasshopper disasters, typhoons, and reduction of grain crops. As matter of fact, the sandstorm is just a little warning. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is most terrible. The authorities will push the whole nation into the evil abyss by persecuting practitioners. The lessons are not just a few—persecution of a righteous faith will lead to severe retribution for the nation. If the Chinese people do not stand up to stop the Jiang Zemin regime from persecuting Falun Dafa, grave disasters will fall upon their own heads. People make their own choices. One reaps what one sows, which is the law of the universe: doing good deeds is met with good rewards, and being evil is met with evil returns. How many clear-minded people know that the fate of China is hanging by a thread?
