[PureInsight.org] There were many famous Chinese doctors in ancient times who possessed the supernormal capability of seeing through the human body and diagnosing patients' illnesses without any medical tools. Names that come to mind include Bian Que, Hua Tuo, Sun Simiao and Li Shizhen. Below is a story of Pang Anchang, a renowned doctor of the past. This story is a clear indication that he had supernormal abilities, with which he could diagnose illnesses without instruments, and use acupuncture techniques to heal patients.

A pregnant woman had still not delivered her baby seven days after her due date. All medicines and other medical techniques had failed. It appeared that the woman could only wait for her death.

On the family's request, Li Jidao, a renowned doctor, was called in for consultation. Doctor Li said: "We have no medicine to solve this problem. I can only think of acupuncture as being effective. But I don't have the necessary skill. Therefore, I dare not do acupuncture."

Li Jidao's teacher Pang Anchang coincidentally stopped by. Once he saw the woman, he stated repeatedly: "She won't die."

Pang Anchang asked the woman's family members to warm her belly and back with warm water. Then he treated her with acupuncture. The woman felt a slight pain in the abdomen, and soon after a boy was born. Both mother and baby survived.

The woman's entire family was astounded and in high spirits. They treated Doctor Pang like a god, though they didn't understand the reason behind his treatment.
Pang Anchang said: "The baby had already come out of the placenta, but one of his hands mistakenly held onto the intestine and wouldn't let go. Therefore, no medicine would do the trick. I only applied the needle on his Hukou point through her belly. The baby felt pain and drew the hand back, so he was born. There was no other special trick."

Later, when they checked the baby's right hand, they found a needle mark on his Hukou point. Pang Anchang's ability to see through human bodies and treat them with acupuncture was indeed extraordinary.

In fact, there is really no other explanation. How else could he have seen that the baby held onto the intestine, than with the supernormal ability of seeing through a human body?

In ancient times, most of the doctors were cultivators. Based on the present understanding about qigong, a cultivator who has great virtue can develop certain supernormal abilities, also called "paranormal ability." Based on this concept, one can easily understand Pang Anchang's supernormal ability.
