What Is Most Important: The Fa and Improving as a Whole

A Dafa Disciple

PureInsight | May 27, 2002

Amidst the immense force of the Fa-rectification, every Dafa particle is playing an important role regardless of the form of manifestation or what work each Dafa particle is doing.

Looking at Everything from the Perspective of Cultivation

As we are cultivating ourselves among everyday people, the form of manifestation of many things is that of everyday people. If we fail to understand these things based on the Fa and fail to look at everything from perspective of cultivation, we will get trapped in the everyday affairs and incidents. This is just like hospital treatment. No matter how hard doctors try, no matter how excellent the equipment is, it can only solve the problem that exists at the level of everyday people and cannot solve the fundamental problem.

The way of solving problems of everyday people is to consider something as it stands. People tend to look for the cause from the surface level and solve the problem superficially. This is just like the relation between hospital treatment and qigong treatment. A practitioner should not get trapped in the way of thinking of everyday people. Master has taught us high-level Fa principles. In fact, the root causes of all problems have been made clear to us. For example, with regards to the treatment of illnesses, if the root cause of the illness cannot be removed, the illness will never be healed. Even if the patient feels better he will have a relapse later. In our cultivation, there are many problems that have been left unresolved for a long period of time. It is because we have not understood the Fa from the point of view of the Fa. If we consider the current persecution a human persecution against human beings, it will be hard for us to pass through the persecution.

Treating Improvement as a Whole as What is Most Important

The immense force of Fa-rectification requires us to coordinate with each other to a greater extent. It is because we go far beyond the status of individual cultivation. We are facing an evil group that looks enormous to human beings. This evil group is composed of different individual particles too. Whether an individual cultivates well or not depends on the degree that he is assimilated to Truthfulness--Benevolence--Forbearance. Whether the whole is powerful also depends on the degree that it has assimilated to Truthfulness--Benevolence--Forbearance. In other spaces, the whole might be a living being. On the surface space, the evil group looks very powerful. It is because the evil has accumulated for a long time. Therefore, a process over time is needed to get rid of it.

It is normal for conflicts to arise between practitioners; however, we should not put negative energy into the whole due to the conflicts. When a practitioner is complaining about others or the whole, it might be possible that the negative energy is put into the whole. Accordingly, our energy has not been used to clear out the evil but instead resulted in internal consumption. When we raise a question, our state of mind should be geared towards solving the problem so that we can provide positive energy for resolving the conflict.

In addition, when we regard the shortcomings of a whole or of an area as something that is outside ourselves, when we regard the problems in cultivation as problems of the community of cultivators, assistance centers or other disciples, we are actually not looking at problems in our own cultivation based on the Fa. So we are most likely to exaggerate our own complaints and it cannot help solve the real problem. Hence, we have been unable to improve based on the Fa.

We have quite a clear understanding of the requirements of Fa-rectification in regards to ourselves as individual particles. Fa-rectification also has certain requirements for the whole. If we cannot clearly see the situation of the whole, although we may have improved much in terms of individual cultivation, it does not meet the requirement for the whole. What's more, when the requirement for the individual is in conflict with the requirement for the whole, the individuals will form small groups within the whole, or they will all withdraw from the whole, which leads to disharmony or even breaking up of the whole. An obstacle to the whole actually can be an obstacle to individual cultivation. The reason is that if the deeper and more important elements are not identified, an individual will not be able to improve no matter how hard he tries.
