Don't Say Things Only a Dafa Practitioner Would Understand When Explaining the Facts to Nonpractitioners

[PureInsight.org] Recently I read an article on Minghui.net written by a fellow practitioner in Mainland China. In the article, the practitioner described how she would frequently run into strangers who were suffering from ailments such as stomachaches or back pain. She would go up to them and ask them to repeat "Falun Dafa Is Good." The people would soon feel better and thank her. I personally think that it may not be appropriate to promote and spread the method of truth clarification mentioned in the article. Here are my thoughts on the subject. I would welcome your comments.

Minghui has published stories of how non-practitioners have experienced miraculous improvements to their health after repeating "Falun Dafa Is Good." In those stories, most of the patients were practitioners' relatives and close friends. Practitioners had already laid a solid foundation by clarifying the truth to them repeatedly prior to their illnesses. Under this circumstance, they were told to say, "Falun Dafa Is Good" and were able to recover from serious illnesses. I think all these are special cases, and cannot be applied in general. If a practitioner asked a stranger who was suffering from a minor ailment to say "Falun Dafa Is Good" just to make him better, I personally don't think it is appropriate.

Nowadays, Chinese people are seriously poisoned by evil. As a result, many people have a negative impression of Dafa. Truth clarification is to save these people. Let's assume a person already believes in the propaganda spread by the evil and has a negative attitude toward Dafa. He believes that Falun Gong practitioners are forbidden to go to the hospital even if they are sick and he also believes that Falun Gong practitioners were involved in the Tiananmen Square [Faked] Self-immolation Incident, which we all know was a performance staged by the evil-doers. When we run into such a person, we should be even more rational. We need to let him see that Falun Gong practitioners are normal and peaceful people. On the other hand, while this person is suffering from a minor ailment, if a practitioner that he doesn't know just comes up to him and tells him that his pain would go away if he could just say, "Falun Dafa Is Good," would he really believe it in his heart? In fact, the practitioner's action might cause the person to develop even more negative thoughts and a very severe mental block that is very difficult to overcome. It might strengthen the negative impression in his mind, and even makes him think Falun Gong practitioners are crazy and irrational people. This would only make it more difficult for this person to learn the truth.

Some of my everyday friends often ask me questions about Falun Gong. Many of these questions come as a result of other practitioners' speaking at too high a level when they try to clarify the truth to them. These everyday friends of mine can't accept what the practitioners have said and have therefore developed negative feelings in their hearts. For example, one of my friends told me that he once heard one practitioner say that only if one knows the truth can one be saved. Some friends also ask why practitioners say "save all sentient beings" and things like that to them. They feel that it is too strange and cannot accept it. Personally, I think saying words such as "save all sentient beings" and "be saved" to everyday people and telling them that their illnesses would be cured if they would say "Falun Dafa Is Good" aren't appropriate. Although these facts are true from the perspective of the Fa and it is easy for us as practitioners to understand their meanings, they are too high for everyday people. These people don't believe in the Fa to start out with, and they may have even been poisoned by the vicious propaganda. If we don't clarify these lies but instead tell them something that only practitioners can understand and believe, or use cultivation phrases such as "save the world's people," I don't feel that it is a rational way to behave.

During the past two years, Teacher's articles have mentioned frequently that we shouldn't speak at too high a level when we clarify the truth. I suggest fellow practitioners study the Fa more. Although we have a tremendous amount of responsibility to clarify the truth and time is also tight, the purpose of truth clarification is to let Chinese people know the truth. We should be truly compassionate and take what everyday peoples can and can't accept into consideration in order to truly achieve our purpose of saving the world's people. We must use our rationality and wisdom to clarify the truth.
