[PureInsight.org] When ancient Chinese people advised others to do good, they often said, "Heaven and earth know each thought of the human mind." I have found from my own experience that this is absolutely true. In fact, there are many manifestations illustrating this idiom recorded in ancient Chinese history. An example follows.

At the end of the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368 A.D.), there lived a man named Yuan Zishi. He had a friend named Miao Qianhu. Miao needed a large sum of money to land a supervisory position in Fujian Province and Yuan lent him the money. A war soon broke out, and Yuan lost all his property during the war. Instead of paying Yuan back the money he owed, Miao claimed that Yuan had never lent him any money. The more Yuan thought about how much he had trusted and helped Miao in the past, the more outraged he felt. He got up in the middle of a night and decided to go kill Miao. On his way to Miao's home, he passed by a Buddhist temple. The host of the temple, Mr. Weng Xuanyuan was a genuine cultivator whose Celestial Eye was open. Weng saw that Yuan was followed by dozens of misshapen ghosts and monsters. When Yuan returned a while later, Weng saw that he was accompanied by over 100 immortals of good fortune wearing gold headbands and jade amulets. Weng was shocked by what he saw!

The next day, Weng went to visit Yuan to inquire what had happened the night before. Yuan said, "Miao betrayed our friendship, and my favor and trust. I was outraged by his treachery and wanted to kill him but I had a second thought when I arrived at his door. I thought, 'Although Miao has returned my kind favor with enmity, he has a wife and an elderly mother who depend on him. If I killed him, who would provide for them?' So I held back my rage and came back." Wen then told Yuan what he had seen the night before, and said, "Your malicious thought attracted a group of demons and ghosts, yet your kind thought repelled the demons and drew immortals of good fortune. It means that the heavens now know what happened. You will surely be rewarded with good fortune for your kindness." Later on, Yuan became the County Administrator of Lushan, but Miao was killed in a military battle.

Heaven and earth know each thought of the human mind. If a man maintains a benevolent mind, and especially if he approves of the Buddha Fa, he will certainly be rewarded with good fortune. If a person maintains a malevolent heart, and especially if he disapproves of the Buddha Fa, he will certainly suffer from bad luck.

The issue of Falun Gong is a good example in this regard.

Falun Buddha Fa is a great, high-level cultivation way of the Buddha School, in which assimilation to the supreme nature of the universe, Zhen-Shan-Ren [Truthfulness–Compassion–Forbearance]

(From Chapter I, The Characteristics of Falun Dafa in The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa)

Just because a large number of Chinese people are drawn to Falun Dafa, Jiang Zemin became overcome with jealousy. He started to spread lies to defame Falun Gong and gave orders to persecute its practitioners. As a result, many people were deceived and instigated to hate Falun Gong and its practitioners. In other words, many people have been incited to be hostile to the Buddha Fa cultivation, and disasters and misfortune beyond imagination will certainly befall them. Out of compassion, Falun Gong practitioners have been trying to explain the truth about the persecution to the public. Their only wish is to help people be free from disasters and misfortunes and to help them secure a bright future. Please don't misinterpret their compassion.
