Gain Wisdom from a Calm Heart and Change Your Way of Thinking

PureInsight | November 5, 2001

During the process of telling the truth of Dafa to everyday people, I have come to realize the power of wisdom that we gain from the Fa (the Laws). In the very beginning, many ordinary people asked me a lot of questions that I could not answer very well. At that time, I did not search inward to look for my own problems. Instead, I thought it was because those people were holding onto human notions too tightly or that their karma was too large. Another reason I came up with to explain this away was that the Fa at high level is beyond words and the enlightenment quality of those ordinary people was so poor that they could not understand it. But as time went on, I continued to study the Fa. Gradually I found that I was not only able to answer the same questions very well, but also was able to fully convince them. I realized that it was because I have adopted a new way of thinking. In the past, when I tried to answer those questions posed by everyday people, I often followed their logic and train of thought, and ended up stuck in their way of thinking. No matter how hard I tried, I just felt that I was not wise enough to answer their questions well because we were only talking about the principles on the human level. Later on, when I encountered similar problems, I handled them differently. I would try to calm down, jump out of their way of thinking, and try to think about the question from a different angle.

Actually, when we start cultivation and continue to study the Fa, our ways of thinking, doing things and all sorts of different notions are being quietly changed little by little. If we are able to use pure states of mind, without any attachments, to look at things, the sides of us who have cultivated well will start to take over. The wisdom beyond our human side is fully unlocked, and can see through the principles in the human world easily with just one glance.
