[PureInsight.org] This traditional Chinese brush painting tells a real story about Falun Gong practitioners in 2001. On June 15, 2001, "over 600 Falun Gong practitioners from 23 countries gathered in Gothenburg, Sweden during the European Summit to have a parade in Gothenburg and a press conference. That day marked the beginning of a new worldwide appeal called, "SOS! Rescue Falun Gong Practitioners Being Persecuted in China." It aimed to raise international awareness and concern about the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China."[1] Starting on July, 2001, Falun Gong practitioners outside of China embarked on "Global SOS Walks" as well as car and bicycle tours with the theme of "SOS: Urgent Rescue of Falun Gong practitioners in China." Practitioners' routes covered many parts of North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Falun Gong practitioners traveled through dozens of countries and regions, and hundreds of cities."[1] In the painting, the artist painted a Buddha and gods riding in colorful clouds above the Falun Gong practitioners on the "SOS Walk," giving them their silent approval of practitioners' honorable actions.
