I feel that I have not been doing well in my efforts to expose the evil and clarify the truth recently. Both in terms of the manner in which I work and the actual end results, there needs to be improvement. But whenever I considered the source of why I keep falling short, I always looked at the problem from within the problem, rather than taking a step back. We must understand the Fa from within the Fa and spread the Fa from within the Fa. Otherwise, the results are limited.
So, how do we display the Buddha Fa in our work? We know that when something is created, other bodies are formed in other dimensions. For example, the act of making a flyer, from the time that we first come up with the content and do the layout, to the actual printing, to distributing the flyer, is in itself the birth of a life in this physical dimension. We need to ask ourselves this question - is every single thought and action that we had throughout the process based on the Fa’s principles and filled with benevolence and desires of clarifying the truth? Don’t think it is simply a matter of posting or handing out a flyer. We not only left behind truth-clarifying texts in the flyer. We also left behind our reason, wisdom and benevolence as well. How could the Buddha statues in old temples inspire righteous belief, guide monks’ cultivation, and offer salvation to people in the past? It is because it had a Buddha Law Body who understands the inner meaning of the Buddha Fa at that level and can display the mighty power of the Buddha Fa at that level.
Master writes in the third lecture of Zhuan Falun:
“As a Falun Dafa practitioner, when you spread the practice in the future, we have two requirements for you.The first one is that you cannot collect a fee. We have given you so many things, but they are not for you to make a fortune or seek fame. Rather, they are for saving you and enabling you to practice cultivation. If you collect a fee, my fashen will take back everything given to you, and you will no longer be a practitioner of our Falun Dafa. What you have spread would not be our Falun Dafa. When you spread it, you should not pursue fame and personal gain, but should serve others voluntarily. All practitioners are doing it this way nationwide, and assistants from different regions have also set this example themselves. If you want to learn our practice, you may come as long as you want to learn it. We can be responsible to you and will not charge you a penny.
The second requirement is that you should not add personal things to Dafa. In other words, during the course of teaching the exercise, regardless of whether your Third Eye is opened, you have seen something, or you have developed some supernormal abilities, you cannot use what you have seen to explain our Falun Dafa. That little bit that you have seen at your level is nothing and far from the actual meaning of the Fa that we teach. So when you spread the practice in the future, you ought to be very careful with this issue. Only by doing so can we ensure that the original things in our Falun Dafa remain unchanged.”
I awoke to the principle that we should rectify our own thoughts continuously and firmly maintain righteous thoughts when handing out pamphlets and clarifying the truth to ordinary people. Doing this ensures that the people listening to us will always understand the truth right away, as our energy fields have the power to change their minds. Master writes in the fourth lecture of Zhuan Falun, “We have said that good or evil comes from a person’s spontaneous thought, and the thought at that moment can bring about different consequences.” In addition, we should know that the real purpose of providing concise introduction to Dafa and clarifying the truth to a person is to guide him/her toward reading Zhuan Falun and studying the Fa someday. When we clarify the truth, we should try our best to use the original words from Dafa books because they carry the power of Dafa, which will not limit the person to our level of understanding and will be able to eliminate his/her conventional notions layer by layer. This way, he will be able to truly be charge of himself, and the results will be better.
I recall an experience of spreading the Fa. We, a group of young practitioners, were sharing experiences while sitting in a circle. Some people around us heard us and were touched by what we said. We didn’t spread the Fa to them directly, but got a very good result. Why is that? It is because our tone of voice, our kindheartedness and the sharing of experience itself showed the inner meaning of Dafa to the enlightened side of the passersby. That side of them that is clear became energized and then they knew Dafa. In fact, this is because of the inner meaning of Dafa.
In the course of exposing evil and clarifying the truth, we have accumulated a lot of experience and understandings on using a variety of ways to clarify the truth. But one thing needs to be stressed - we should not only count the quantity of the pamphlets we distributed. The more important thing is the “quality” of our work. The original format of Dafa’s spreading was from person to person and from heart to heart. A flyer without Dafa’s inner meaning may not even enable a person with a predestined relationship with Dafa to maintain his ties with Dafa. That person might not even know what the truth behind the persecution is. However, a flyer with Dafa’s inner meaning will spread widely from heart to heart and make ordinary people understand Dafa better. So, how can we ensure that it will be spread from heart to heart? Only the Buddha Fa has the power to achieve that. I feel that we should pay more attention to how we can better demonstrate Dafa’s inner meaning behind the format better and let each single Dafa particle fully utilize his ability better. We should understand the Fa principles from within the Fa, demonstrate the Fa principles from within the Fa and validate the Fa principles from within the Fa.
