Background:
This song is the true story of an elderly Chinese man who traveled many provinces by foot all the way to Beijing in order to appeal for Falun Gong. He wore out nine pairs of shoes along the way. When he sat down in meditation on Tiananmen Square, the Chinese guards immediately rushed towards him, preparing to make an arrest. Just as they began to close in, the man calmly took the nine pairs of worn out shoes from his bag and explained how he had traveled so far just to tell them that Falun Gong is good. Even the guards at Tiananmen Square were moved by this man's sacrifice.

Lyrics: (English translation)
An old man walked far across China.
He walked on his path for Falun Gong.
His goal was to clear his mind.
And when the water reached his feet,
It was time again for a new pair of shoes.
On the path for Falun Gong.
Yes his feet were tortured badly but his heart was free.
He thought about the noble deed.
So he carried the old shoes in his hand.
A bag ever more filled.
His heart was free, his mind was clear.

Chorus:
On the path for Falun Gong,
All he wished to say Falun Gong is good!

He walked for compassion and forbearance.
No heart could resist him.
When he finally reached his goal, Tiananmen Square,
He simply sat down [in meditation.]
They immediately tried to arrest him
But he showed his bag full of worn out shoes.
Every hole was a sign of Purity and Compassion.
He sat there and spoke for Falun Gong.

Chorus:
He sat there peacefully for Falun Gong.
He simply wished to say Falun Gong is good.

The old man was filled with confidence.
So clear and not afraid.
He brought the truth to light.
On his way through the land of China.
Then he simply sat down.
They immediately tried to arrest him…

Chorus:
He sat there peacefully for Falun Gong.
He simply wished to say Falun Gong is good.
