[] For the past two years, Falun Gong practitioners in Penghu (a small island near Mainland China) have tried to have a Falun Gong summer camp for schoolteachers in Penghu. However, our application was repeatedly rejected.

In May, I was determined to start a Falun Gong summer camp for schoolteachers there! It is truly important to introduce Falun Gong to them because those schoolteachers who approve of Falun Gong will influence their students' attitude towards Falun Gong. After all, schoolteachers do have a lot of impact on students. To this day I still remember a schoolteacher and his lessons. All the students ran around during the break and became very sweaty. After the break, before the class began, the teacher would ask us to remain standing for a couple of minutes to clear our mind and then start his lessons. I was amazed by how much better I was able to absorb his teaching after I cleared my mind first. Because of this schoolteacher, I have always felt that it is very lucky to meet a good schoolteacher.

Because we have never had a Falun Gong summer camp for schoolteachers in Penghu and because some of the government officials in Penghu were very conservative and not very open to new ideas, I repeatedly sent forth righteous thoughts to purify my mind before I made the application. I also asked fellow practitioners in Penghu to help by sending forth righteous thoughts. There were a lot of things we have never done before, but the Fa gave us the wisdom to solve each problem as it came. When we worked cohesively and maintained righteous thoughts, we could always overcome the challenges. I also witnessed and admired fellow practitioners' peaceful state of mind and determination as we worked together on the application process.

After Fa study, we decided that it was very important for us to visit each school first. We immediately divided into several groups and visited all the schools. These visits made a lot of positive impact. One of the schools had originally overlooked the official notice of the summer camp. After we introduced Falun Gong to them, they immediately posted the official notice on the schoolteacher's bulletin board. A school principal had some misunderstandings about Falun Gong, but he became very interested in Falun Gong and friendly to us after our visit. He even promised to encourage the schoolteachers to attend the summer camp. Some relatively new Falun Gong practitioners who volunteered to help with the project were timid and afraid to talk at first. By the time they visited the second or the third school, they began to talk confidently and eloquently. They overcame their fear as they stepped up and contributed to the truth-clarification work. We all felt that our cohesiveness and cooperation with each other is very powerful.

Several days following our visits to the schools, I wrote a news report announcing the summer camp. A fellow practitioner contacted the local media and got the report published by two local newspapers in Penghu. Each newspaper used a quarter of the page to report the summer camp. Afterwards, I received many phone calls from interested people and took those opportunities to promote Falun Gong. We also invited local journalists to attend the first day of the Falun Gong summer camp and local government officials to make a speech on the first day. I also received calls suggesting we have another Falun Gong summer camp for local government employees. Actually I had always wanted to do this. I even plan to have Falun Gong summer camps for women. People in Penghu are waiting to obtain the Fa. We must hurry up and use every available channel to introduce Falun Gong to them!

Our first Falun Gong summer camp for schoolteachers was held in a location that could accommodate only 100 people. We had more than 100 people signing up for the summer camp, but we were very glad to borrow chairs to accommodate the additional people! The overwhelming success was the result of our cooperation with each other. Although we should not develop an attachment to zealotry, we could not help being excited to see so many people coming for the Fa! Actually, it is Teacher that is saving these people. We are only playing a role that we are supposed to play according to Teacher's script. If the result is less than successful, it is because we fail to play our role well.

Teacher said, "Actually, it is the Fa that saves people, and only Master can do this thing. You merely help people with predestined relationships to obtain the Fa. Whether they can truly be saved still depends on whether they can reach Consummation through cultivation." (From "Don't Make Wild Statements" in Essentials for Further Advancement.)

After the experience of organizing and coordinating this summer camp, I have attained a deeper understanding of the following passage of the Fa.

Teacher said, "If a certain region is doing well, then it's definitely something like this: the coordinators just say that something needs to be done, and Dafa disciples, of their own initiative, coordinate with each other and overcome the challenges together, fully utilizing Dafa disciples' wisdom, to get it done well and in a more ideal way. Even when the coordinators don't think things through too well or have even overlooked some things, the Dafa disciples will perfect it along the way—and that is your mighty-virtue. Don't get resentful when things are tough, and don't think that you need to have people see what you're doing. Master can see everything you do, and so can all gods. When you have done well that's your own, eternal mighty-virtue." ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students")
