Master said:
“Yet we are still cultivating and still have some last ordinary human attachments. When a problem arises, we have to examine ourselves first to see whether things are right or wrong on our part. If we determine that it is interference or [an attempt to do] damage, when we deal with the specific problem we should try our best to be calm and kind to these people who are at the surface, because when the evil uses people, these people themselves usually aren't aware of it (although those people who are used are usually either people whose thoughts are just bad or people who have bad thoughts arising). As for the interference by evil in other dimensions, we must seriously eradicate it with righteous thoughts.” (“Fa Rectification and Cultivation”)
My understanding is this:
If one went to a puppet show with their children and the puppets started to act out something that you thought was wrong who would you blame? One would not start telling of the puppet or develop hatred towards it. This is for sure. Yet you would blame the puppeteer. Only the child would blame the puppet. Yet as an adult you know that this puppet is not in control of itself and that it is controlled only through the puppeteer and that the puppet will do only what the puppeteer wants it to do.
Is this not the same issue with people who go against the Fa? Of course, human beings must take responsibility for their actions. We practitioners have knowledge of Dafa and we know to follow the characteristics of the universe “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” and thus we are the adults in this respect and the people being used are the “puppets,” to a degree. Then we must treat this issue responsibly and look at it from the perspective of a Dafa disciple.
Master also says: “Let us talk about the most common illnesses. Somewhere in the body one may have a tumor, infection, osteophytosis, etc. It is because in another dimension there lies a being in that place. That being is in a very deep dimension. An ordinary qigong master or an ordinary supernatural capability is unable to detect it; they can only see the black qi in one’s body. It is correct to say that wherever there is black qi, there is an illness. Yet the black qi is not the fundamental cause of an illness. It is because there is a being in a deeper dimension who generates this field. So some people talk about discharging and removing the black qi—go ahead and discharge it as you wish! Shortly afterward, it will be generated again, as some beings are very powerful and can retrieve the qi as soon as it is removed; they can retrieve it on their own. Treatments just do not work no matter how they are applied.” (Zhuan Falun, Lecture Seven)
When we see someone assaulting Dafa we can only see that there is a person who stands before who is doing something very bad and is acting in an extremely filthy way. Yet if we viewed his acts as the illness then we would be able to see that it is not really him who is doing this and he is only a “tool” being used by the evil to attack Dafa and “we must seriously eradicate it with righteous thoughts”.
Yet I think that we can also see this issue in other things such as cars, bikes, computers or anything that a practitioners needs to use. Master says: “So some people talk about discharging and removing the black qi—go ahead and discharge it as you wish! Shortly afterward, it will be generated again, as some beings are very powerful and can retrieve the qi as soon as it is removed; they can retrieve it on their own.”
When we find a problem with something e.g., the computer won’t allow you to send an email to another practitioner, the car won’t work so you can’t get to class, and so on. we shouldn’t think “oh the computer is broken. Lets buy a new one” or “oh the car is broken I must get a new one” as it is most likely that if you do this then the evil will just attack this new computer or car as “Shortly afterward, it will be generated again.” We can only stop this from happening through the use of righteous thoughts, after seeing to the problem in the physical world in so far as possible.
I experienced this problem recently with my own computer at home. One day my email refused to work, once I saw this I knew that it was the evil interfering with my activities in Fa rectification. Yet I was busy and due to human attachments I didn’t sit down and seriously send forth righteous thoughts. Yet I knew that I could check my email on my Hotmail account but soon enough this also failed and then my Yahoo account also failed. I then knew that I had to sit down and send forth righteous thoughts. After the first time I received one email then after the second time I received two emails and then the next day my email system was back to normal. This allowed me to see just how effective righteous thoughts are and how we shouldn’t look at problems externally and with a human heart but from the view of a Dafa disciple.
There is a saying: “A bad workman blames his tools”. I think that we can also use this as it is not the “tools” fault.
Of course with these examples I have given we must always “examine ourselves first to see whether things are right or wrong on our part.”
