Sharing a Little Experience on ";Searching Inward";

Jing Zhi

In order to truly “search inward,” we must first and foremost treat ourselves as genuine practitioners, and we must maintain a serious attitude. Moreover, we must use the principle of the Fa to guide us to seek the truth, or else we might become mesmerized by circumstances and emotion, making it very difficult to find the root cause of our human attachments. We must have righteous thoughts.

I feel that attachments also have different degrees or levels. Some are deeper than others. Sometimes we can admit our wrongdoings and even tell others about our mistakes. However, later on when “searching inward,” we find our previous words hid some other attachments that we were not willing to think about. Superficially “searching inward” at different levels can actually cover up and protect deeper attachments. We must look within unconditionally. If we are still thinking about other peoples’ shortcomings while searching inward, then in short, we will not be able to find our own real problems.
