Young Practitioner's Tales: Removing an Attachment in a Dream

[PureInsight.org] My name is Yang Qianhui. I am nine years old this year. Teacher often tests my xinxing in the dream, but I failed the tests. When I woke up from such dreams, I felt frustrated and uneasy.

Teacher said, "If you fail the test the first time, it will be difficult to pass it the second time." (From "Demonic Interference in Cultivation" in Lecture Six of Zhuan Falun.)

I realized that I repeatedly failed the tests because I didn't always keep the Fa on my mind and because I didn't study the Fa diligently. Lately I had a dream whose result was very inspiring to me. I would like to share this dream with everyone.

In the dream my school had an event. Those parents who volunteered to help with the event brought many prizes. I won two of them. They were a handheld computer and a calculator. Before I got on the school bus to return home, I noticed that I had left those two prizes behind and I wasn't sure where I had left them. If I were to turn back to look for them, I would probably miss the school bus. If I didn't go back to look for them, they would probably be gone for good. I hesitated for a few seconds but I decided to get on the bus any way. On the following day when I went to school, I discovered that the handheld computer and the calculator were in my desk.

After I woke up from the dream, I realized it was a test Teacher had arranged for me. The school bus was a metaphor for the Fa boat. If I don't eliminate my attachments and desires, I won't be able to get on the Fa boat and return to my true home. Second, it is a test on whether I am able to follow the course of nature.

Teacher said, "If something is yours, you will not lose it. If something is not yours, you will not have it even if you fight for it." (From "Jealousy" in Lecture Seven of Zhuan Falun.)
