Greetings fellow practitioners!
Another year went by and it was again time for our annual aerial word arrangement, which I had looked forward to happily. It was the morning of November 24 and it was raining. I decided to go to the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall where we would be composing the words, and hoped for good weather there.
The Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is a national art hall. Practitioners began working in the drizzling rain. Soon the centerline was ready and the width was just right. People were busy manipulating the center wire into a circle. After the coordinates for the four Tai-ji symbols were put into place, we divided into groups to put into place the seating mats. It continued to drizzle. Each group leader, with their tools, tape, scissors, rags, a ruler and sticks, was responsible for one section. My group was responsible for a large srivatsa symbol. We were tracing the coordinates with a line. A practitioner called out for us all to send forth righteous thoughts. Everyone looked up and realized that it was noon. We set aside our tasks and went to send forth righteous thoughts.
Dafa disciples, created by great Master are hardworking. Doing the work in the rain requires twice as much effort. The muddy tiles had to be cleaned with rags and dried with paper towels. People had to switch between standing and squatting the entire day, as you couldn’t sit down. When the rain stopped in the afternoon, everyone rushed to place down the seating mats. Practitioners busied themselves with tape and with placing or disassembling iron rings. All practitioners had a chance to let go of human attachments. The practitioner who was in charge of distributing seating mats was constantly giving out new colors for new locations—“Put 6 red mats here, followed by the yellow mats…” Not a single practitioner complained.
Everyone was helping each other and it was very lively. I thought that as we had been doing this every year, we had matured and upgraded our xinxing. It was unlike previous years with all the complaining, such as, “This region’s practitioners are so slow and do such a poor job taping”; “That region’s practitioners took away something that I needed—how un-practitioner-like”; “How can we proceed if the group leader isn’t here”; “This is so slow. The day is almost dark,” etc. Now it’s different. Over the years, we have matured through our cultivation in Dafa.
Master said in Zhuan Falun, “When your character improves, your body really changes. When your character improves, the matter in your body definitely changes.”
This year, the word arrangement was very smooth. Difficulties that arose were resolved. The rain started again, so we could not continue. We sighed and went home for the day, since it was getting dark. We would resume the next day.
On the way home on the bus, I looked inwards as I gazed out at the roads. Improving xinxing is reflected in every word and action. Sometimes you will do well, and other times you will not.
Master said in Zhuan Falun, “You have to care about character cultivation, cultivate by the nature of the universe—to be True, Good, and Endure—and get rid of those ordinary people’s desires, those character flaws, and those thoughts about doing bad things. As long as your level of awareness goes up even just a little bit, those bad things of yours are shed some at the same time. And along with this, you have to experience a little hardship, go through some hard times, and eliminate some of your karma, and then you can raise your level a bit, meaning, the universe’s nature won’t have as big a restriction on you.”
I must be steadfast in cultivation and conduct myself based on Dafa’s principles. I must treat myself as a practitioner and eliminate all negative notions. Everything is an illusion and must not be accepted. Thinking this way, all discomforts immediately evaporated from my body.
The next day, there was a blue sky at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. How awesome! Practitioners were very busy at the square. The mats were almost all in place. Practitioners were placing the background color of the Law Wheel. Mats were even placed to represent the rays of light. Any spare time was used to help correct inadequacies. We had become skilled at enhancing the decorations, because everyone had matured, so it no longer dragged out until sunset. How great! It was also very touching.
The long-awaited word arrangement was over in two days. Some fellow practitioners eliminated their attachments through these busy days, while others enlightened to things. In other dimensions there displayed righteous energy.
I would like to thank Master for giving Taiwanese practitioners such a large cultivation environment to validate the Fa, clarify the truth and save predestined sentient beings.
