Inspiration from a Fellow Practitioner on Getting Back Her Passport

[PureInsight.org] In an article published on Minghui net on March 12, a practitioner shared her experience on what she did after the Chinese Embassy in Bern, Germany refused to return her passport when she went to extend it. She took the incident as a good opportunity to clarify the truth. She clarified the facts to the media, the city mayor, human rights organizations, and law professors. She received a lot of support. Finally the Chinese Embassy returned her passport with the proper extension that she had asked for.

This practitioner's cultivation experience touched me deeply. My passport extension application was refused by the Chinese consulate too. Several years have passed, and I still have not gotten back my passport yet. Although the local Chinese and western media, Minghui, and the Epoch Times have all reported my story, the Chinese consulate still refused to extend my passport. I got tired of the situation and thought of myself, "If you do not extend my passport, it is fine. I will just find a way around it." So I just let the matter drop. I did not take it as an opportunity to let more people know the truth.

Now I realize that my righteous thoughts were not strong enough on this matter. The excuse that I had given myself was that I was too busy working on Dafa projects. However, when I dug into my heart, I find that I had let the matter drop due to my fear of difficulty and troubles and my habit of depending on others to help solve problems for me. What had happened to me was an opportunity to clarify the truth. But I did not use it, and others could not help much either. Of course, just like what that practitioner had said in her article— she didn't treat it as just a way to get her problem solved. She realized that the purpose of everything we do is to clarify the truth.

Master said, "We'd say that a good or bad outcome comes from one thought." (Zhuan Falun). When our thoughts are strong and righteous, we are our true cultivated self in the Fa. When our righteous thoughts are weak, our notions, karma and evil things are interfering with us. If we do not manage to accomplish something, it is not always because of the outside factors. A lot of times it is because of the lack of our righteous thoughts. Because of that, we give up too easily.

I also experience the same situation when calling people in Mainland China to clarify the truth. Everything I tell myself to make the calls, another thought always pops into my head telling me that there is other Dafa work to do, or "I have not practiced the exercises today", or "I have not studied the Fa today", or I suddenly feel sleepy and want to go to bed early. I know that this is interference from those evil beings who try to prevent me from picking up the telephone. When a battle rages on in our heads, it all depends on our righteous thoughts and whether we can view it from the perspective of the Fa. In fact, if we can strengthen our righteous thoughts, the evil will perish.
