[PureInsight.org] Having been away from Mainland China and living in the US for a long time, I have gradually taken it for granted to have the rights of freedom of belief and freedom of speech. Recently I learned through the media reports that Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Weixun from China, with the help from organizations such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the US government, the Friends of Falun Gong in America, and the Global Mission of Rescuing Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners, has overcome many difficulties and finally arrived America. I couldn't help expressing my feelings by writing this article.

Ms. Li Weixun is one of the thousands of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in China. For her persistence in believing in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, Ms. Li had been arrested by the Chinese police several times and brutally tortured. During her last arrest, she was tortured to the brink of death. The Shenyang City Police Department authorities released her, being afraid of taking the responsibility in the event that she died. But they put her under surveillance. To escape from constant danger, while she was still severely hurt, Ms. Li Weixun escaped and became homeless. Because he helped her escape, her elder brother, Mr. Li Weiji, who is not a Falun Gong practitioner, was sentenced to eight years in prison. He is in jail right now. In addition, Ms. Li's sister and brother-in-law were fined 20,000 yuan each. Finally, even without her presence, the Shenyang City Court illegally sentenced her 16 years in prison. One can imagine what would be waiting for Ms. Li had she not escaped from the Chinese Communist Party's evil hands.

During the glorious age of Tang Dynasty, China enjoyed the Prosperity of Zhenguan. It achieved such magnificence that "people from all countries came to visit with many translators crossing the border." However, the evil cult of the Chinese Communist Party's 56 years' tyranny has destroyed the traditional Chinese culture and the belief in Gods. Just like what's said in the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, as soon as the Chinese Communist Party stole political power, it started carrying out a policy of "simultaneously extinguishing the Three Religions". To extinguish Buddhism, it established the Buddhist Association in 1951; to extinguish Taoism, it established the Taoist Association in 1957. In between it carried out Land Reform and Intellectual Thoughts Reform, so as to remove the intellectual atmosphere while extinguishing the landowner social class. If it didn't work on the first attempt, then there was the second time, and the third time. Against the Right movement was to shut people's mouths, and the Cultural Revolution was to kill the traditional Chinese culture. Putting the matter in a simple way that everyone understands, it's killing the traditional culture and its bearers. In the fifteen years of Jiang's rule, China's social morality slid down rapidly. The persecution of Falun Gong literally put the morality of the entire Chinese society on the edge of collapse. Kindhearted Falun Gong practitioners cannot find even one safe place inside the vast land of China.

In the old years, a group of descendents of European Puritans established the United States of America in this beautiful land. The United States of America has rich and varied products, fertile lands, abundant water, and vast forests. The American people finally created a republic that was not shadowed by the religious persecution that was taking place in Europe. Instead it allowed freedom of belief. In her history, America has witnessed Lincoln preserving the republic's integrity and unification. The U.S. has become the lighthouse of the world representing the ideology of democracy and freedom. It was America's participation that has stopped the rampant Nazism during World War II. Without America's persistence in the ideology of Democracy and Freedom or without its resistance to the communist despotic camp, the Soviet Union probably would have stayed around at least another twenty years.

The Gods have made America exist and be powerful so that people in the world who believe in freedom and democracy will have a beautiful, fertile and free land in which to stay.

I feel happy for Ms. Li Weixun. A believer of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, having undergone numerous hardships, has finally found a place to stay. I am also happy and I cheer for the U.S. government and people who uphold justice!
