On Scientific Attitude

PureInsight | May 7, 2001

A few days ago, one of my classmates studying in the United States brought back a science video entitled 'The Mysterious Origins of Man'. I was deeply touched after watching it. It was an unusual video in the sense that it systematically collected a series of archaeological evidence that had always been rejected by a majority of the science and technology community. With the unquestionable facts, this video challenged the widely accepted theory of Man's origin---the theory of evolution.

After watching the video, I visited the publisher's Website (http://www.bcvideo.com/bcvideo) where it also mentioned some other videos and books in the field of archaeology. It noted that this program caused quite a strong reaction in America right after it aired. It is possible that the current understanding of our own origins are wrong because the archaeological evidence that would support or prove the theory of evolution has never been discovered. People have never found any fossils from the transitional stages between any two species. Also, human beings or animals in a transitional stage never surfaced as a part of human civilization for thousands of years. In fact, all the excavated archaeological evidence opposes the theory of evolution: in almost every time period defined by the evolution theory as the period in which mankind evolved into human beings, fossils of highly developed human civilizations were discovered. The skepticism raised on this dominant theory made me reflect a lot on the scientific attitude.

Back in high school, whenever I read the history of science, I could hardly contain my excitement seeing that scientists of older generations continuously discovered new particles and new fields. But when I entered Tsinghua University, a top Chinese institute of science and technology, I found that today's scientific community was no longer like that. They are more caught up in developing new applications of technology that could bring direct and immediate convenience to our society, rather than doing real scientific research. Computer Science is a prime example of today's science. Old computers may be discarded every one or two years. Technology is accelerating; yet science is slowing down. Human's understanding of time and space has never gone beyond that of Einstein. People advocate the kind of technology that could bring direct material gratification rather than the science that could explore the mysteries of the universe.

The true scientific attitude is one that takes profit and fame lightly. Do we have the courage to deny our current achievements and to watch the theories established ourselves being destroyed by new science? The work of the scientists in 'The Mysterious Origins of Man' was conducted with a total scientific attitude. They revealed, in depth, the phenomenon of 'knowledge filtering' which so commonly existed and so severely hindered the progress of science: People do not care, report, talk or discuss in class about those phenomenon that cannot be explained by traditional theories. As a matter of fact, besides the evidence mentioned in 'The Mysterious Origins of Man', to this day, there have been many discoveries in support of the existence of sophisticated prehistoric civilizations.

The textbook of Basic Radioactive Chemistry (C. Claire ed.) used by Tsinghua university has the following paragraph: 'The natural uranium in the Oklo mine in Gabon, West Africa, contains an abnormal amount of U235. It is as low as 0.29%, rather than the normal 0.72%. This means that many self-sustained nuclear fission chain reactions took place at this mine about two billion years ago. Thirteen nuclear reactors existed in prehistoric periods along the 200-metre mine bed, and they were comparable to the modern nuclear reactor in power and heat combustion. This mine had the capability of enabling self-sustained nuclear chain reactions....' This discovery, that shocked the entire scientific community in 1972, has already been forgotten by people today.

People have discovered a lot of prehistoric architecture under the oceans. This indicates that human civilizations existed before the rise and formation of the current continental plates, and that the old continental plates just sank to the bottom of the oceans. For example, 'In 1967, when a deep-water submarine named 'Alumiro' was carrying out tasks in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, it observed a wide underwater road or a road which might have been originally above water. When the submarine proceeded, it felt like a car running on a normal big street. The passage was very wide.'

The Lunar Module of Apollo XII spaceship was accidentally out of control and dropped onto the surface of the moon. This accident led to a surprising discovery: The seismography previously set up on the surface of the moon recorded more than ten minutes of vibration, rather than just a few minutes as anticipated. Inspired by this, over the course of the next few landings on the moon, scientists performed a sufficient number of man-made moon vibration tests that led to the conclusion that the moon was hollow inside. In addition, when the spaceship went around the moon, it felt an uneven gravitational force. This implied that the moon had a certain configuration inside. All naturally formed celestial bodies are solid inside; therefore the moon might have been created by a very highly evolved prehistoric civilization. There are far too many cases like these to be mentioned here.

Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, once said: 'What today's science and technological community has discovered is sufficient to change our present textbooks... Due to the influence of conventional perceptions, no one today has systematically compiled such findings.'

When Darwin rolled out his theory of evolution, it was just a hypothesis without solid proof. Even Darwin himself admitted and regretted before he died that he had presented a wrong theory. A scientist in 'The Mysterious Origins of Man' traced an analogy between the evolution theory and 'the emperor's new clothes'. Those scientists who supported the evolution theory asked him: 'If you say the theory of evolution is wrong, then give us an explanation of where Man came from.' The scientist replied: 'Although I cannot give you an explanation, I do need to point it out that the emperor is not wearing any clothes.' If the theory of evolution is overruled, mankind who has been puzzled by its own origin needs to calm down, re-learn about itself and the universe. Where on earth did Man come from? Why were the well developed prehistoric civilizations destroyed? How could today's civilization avoid destruction? What is the utmost purpose of human existence?

The revelation of the true origin of Man would bring a fundamental change to people's conventional thinking about the universe, time and space. In the midst of these enormous celestial bodies, our life seems so trivial and short. How could it be possible that we are the most intelligent beings in this universe? In the presence of this vast, deep and ever-lasting universe, mankind must genuinely transform itself to become wise, humble and kind. Perhaps, by starting with exploring its own origin, mankind could develop an entirely new science in the 21st century!
