The Power of Heart

[PureInsight.org] On February 22, 1971, a car accident happened on Interstate Highway 70 near Chicago. Mr. Mayers, a west coast manager for The Wall Street Journal,
was seriously injured. His head was dented 2 cm deep and he had little
chance for survival. Fortunately, Mr. Mayers revived. But he was
paralyzed from the chest down with most parts of his body having lost
their sense of touch and both of his hands unable to move. People were
sure that he would have to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.

Mayers had always been a very optimistic person, so despite some
temporary frustration, he quickly re-collected his courage for life. He
decided to stand up again. He tried numerous methods, took many kinds
of medicines and consulted various doctors for treatment, but all these
efforts ended up in vain with not even the slightest result. His
confidence collapsed little by little.

At that time, Rufus, a professor of psychology, came to treat him.
After a period of preparation, he pushed Mayers to an empty room with a
blackboard hanging on the wall. He wrote two big words, "Can not," on
the board and then asked Mayers: "Do you want to stand up again?"

Mayers answered: "yes!"

"Then, do you think you can stand up?"

Mayers hesitated, because he did not have much confidence left for it, yet he still nodded uncertainly.

"Then, come up and erase the "not" and leave the "can" there." The professor commended.

Mayers's hands moved a little, but he couldn't lift them.

"If you think you can, you will be able to do it! Come over and erase the "not!" Rufus ordered again in a strong tone of voice.

A miracle appeared. Mayers's whole body reacted; he trembled and tried
to push the wheelchair. He came close to the black board and picked up
the eraser with a trembling hand. Bit by bit, he erased the "not" on
the black board, and finally, all that remained on the board was an eye
striking "can"!

"See, you can!" Rufus exclaimed excitedly, "You did it! From now on, nothing in the world can stop you from standing up again."

It turned out to be the truth. Mayers recovered at a surprising speed. On October 29, 1971, Mayers returned to work again.

Under the medical knowledge of that time, it was totally impossible for
people who become paralyzed from the chest down to stand up again.
However, Mayers did it. A person who believes nothing can stop him, can
create miracles.

In fact, not only Mayers, but also anyone who can send out enormous energy from his heart will be able to create miracles.
