A hero has left us and will not return.
Without too many words, you left us.
After enduring so much, a hero has left us.
I want to ask the perpetrators,
"Does it mean that you won't stop committing evil deeds till the very end?

When I first heard about your death, tears rolled down my face.
Twenty-one months of torture is such a long time.
The thought of it tore my heart.

On March 5, 2002, while the principle of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance was being slandered, people were being deceived and numbed by lies, and hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners had been tortured to death because of their steadfast belief in Dafa, you and several other brave heroes tapped into eight channels of the Changchun cable television system. This act was done to broadcast "Falun Dafa Around the World" and "Self-immolation: A Staged Act," television programs that clarify the truth about Dafa. People in other countries can view these tapes freely. But in order to show the programs to your fellow countrymen you had no choice but to lay down your own life to give them an opportunity to make the distinction between right and wrong.

You were not asking for much. When people are treated unfairly, they must be given a chance to speak. When people are deceived and poisoned by lies, they should know the truth. Trying to accomplish the goal of giving back people their rights that have been taken away from them, you chose a method that did not hurt any person or any organization.

A magnificent feat was done even though it might look ordinary. I know future generations will forever remember this chapter in history.

We will forever remember the date, March 24, 2002, the day you were arrested. The police tortured you but you didn't give in. They handcuffed and shackled you. They shot two bullets into your legs, and you still didn't give in. I last heard about you on October 26, 2003, when you were in a hospital for emergency treatment because you were on the brink of death from being subjected to torture for such a long time. The doctors issued your family the notice of impending death. Your body was covered with bruises and you were in a coma for a long time. Every time you regained consciousness, you recited:

A Great Enlightened Being does not fear hardship
Having forged an adamantine will
And with no attachment to living or dying
He walks his path of Fa-rectification openly and nobly
(From "Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions")

We know these word's from Master gave you endless strength. You also repeatedly told your family to treat the inmates who took care of you well. In the last moment of your life, you were still thinking of others.

At 4 a.m. on December 26, 2003, you left this world forever.

While people argue about whether it is right or wrong to tap into the television system, your young and precious life was taken away by evil. Throughout the whole incident, the contrast between good and evil is so drastic. Even in the most difficult situations, you and other practitioners used the kindest methods to clarify the facts without hurting anyone. The evil force is always torturing, murdering and deceiving people. Kind-hearted people, please open your eyes and look!

You left us and left me with many regrets. I regret I did not do more for you. Why did I not tell your story to more people so more kind-hearted people could help end this torture, abuse and persecution as soon as possible?

Also because of you, I cannot allow myself to wallow in grief and regret because I know that is not what you want. I can only use all my strength to do what I can. That is to tell more people about the truth, to expose this brutal persecution, to encourage people to help stop this persecution that should never have happened, and to uphold truth, justice and goodness in the world.

I told your story to a friend of mine who did not know too much about Falun Gong. He is normally a very talkative person. But after he heard your story, he didn't say anything for a long time. Finally, he asked me, "What can I do?" Tears streamed down my face because I realized another person has awakened because of you.

People say that we are living in a time when there are no heroes. People even argue about the definition of a hero. But from you, an ordinary Falun Gong practitioner, I have seen what a hero truly is.

When I finished writing this article from my home on January 1, 2004, I saw a beautiful rosy cloud in the winter sky. Was that you?
