Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions Lead to Righteous Outcomes

A Western Practitioner

[PureInsight.org] Things in our
cultivation and in our life are interconnected and nothing is
accidental. Even the simplest thing that happens in our everyday life
is not accidental. I would like to share some recent experiences.

A few days ago I was on the ship with a friend of mine and his
girlfriend. She was listening to music with an MP3 player. "Do you like
it?" she asked me. "It was a gift from John".

Two days later, I was informed that a friend of mine had a motorbike
accident and that she was in hospital badly injured. She had broken
everything, legs, arms, ribs but she had escaped the danger. When I
heard about her accident I immediately thought: "karma elimination."
This girl had shown interest in Falun Dafa in the past and had come to
the practice site a couple of times. The doctors had said that it was
really a miracle that she survived such an accident. I decided to give
her as a gift an MP3 player with Dafa music and Teacher's lectures when
I went to visit her.

When she saw me in front of her bed at the hospital the first thing she
said was: "Will you show me the Falun Dafa exercises?" "I have a gift
for you" I answered. She was happy to receive my gift. Her mother also
said that no one had thought to bring her music and that she really
needed that. When I left the hospital I was full of compassion and I
had the feeling that I had really helped someone.

The same evening after I went home I decided to call two people in two
different cities regarding the presentation of my book that I was
planning. My book, recently published, is a collection of poems and I
use it as a tool for truth clarification because it has the following
dedication on it:

"Poetry beyond poetry is
Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.  Truthfulness,
Compassion and Forbearance are being persecuted in China. This book is
dedicated to all Falun Dafa practitioners."

The first lady I called worked at the city's municipality and was
responsible for the cultural events. She said: "I was planning to call
you tomorrow. We have booked a date in April for the book
presentation." I hadn't heard from them for weeks and I feared that the
presentation would not take place. The second lady I called was a
writer and I wanted to suggest to her to talk at my book presentation
at the other city. Upon hearing that, she really got enthusiastic about
the idea. If she had refused, the book presentation would have been
cancelled since I didn't have anyone else in mind.

On the morning of the same day my publisher had cancelled the
presentation of the book in my city, something which annoyed me.
However, I soon got ever my anger and I left behind the book
presentation as if I was leaving behind an attachment. Leaving behind
this attachment, the experience with this friend of mine in the
hospital and the positive answers of the two ladies all gave me the
following feeling: The outcomes had changed and I had received two new
opportunities for a book presentation, after I had left this attachment
behind and had done something good. I knew that nothing was accidental
and it felt like a personal breakthrough.

I would also like to share a recent experience I had. One night I was
working on my novel, writing with a righteous and peaceful mind. I had Zhuan Falun
besides me. Suddenly I felt a presence, as if someone came out of the
book, and this sudden thought crossed my mind: "Teacher smiles at me
because I have a righteous mind".

The basic message of my experience sharing is: Righteous thoughts and
righteous actions can lead to righteous outcomes. Nothing is fixed. As
Teacher mentions in Zhuan Falun, good and evil both depend upon the one thought that determines the outcome.

In closing I would like toshould mention that having a righteous mind
is not always the case in my cultivation and that there are still a lot
of attachments that I need to get rid of.
