The Illegal Organ Trading: The Land of China is Sobbing

[PureInsight.org] Reports from a newspaper called "The Epoch Times"
exposed a secret concentration camp in the Suchiatun area of Shenyang
City, Liaoning Province in Mainland China recently. The concentration
camp is in the back yard of the Liaoning Thrombus Treatment Hospital of
Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine and is located at 49 Xuesong
Road, Sujiatun District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, Mainland
China. Based on the latest witness testimonies, at least 6000 Falun
Gong practitioners were imprisoned there in 2003. No one came out
alive. About three-quarters of the 6,000 people died after their
hearts, kidneys, corneas, or skin were removed; their bodies were then
burned. Right now, approximately 2000 Falun Gong practitioners are
still there.

According to incomplete statistics, at least 3000 people from South
Korea have received organ transplants in Mainland China. Every year
there are at least 1000 people from other countries to have organ
transplants in China. Between the year of 2004 and 2005, 180 Japanese
nationals received liver and kidney transplantation in China. Among
them, seven surgeries failed, resulting in the death of the patients.
At present, each month approximately 30 people from Israel come to
China to receive organ transplantation surgery. Other patients are from
India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United States, Canada,
Pakistan, Amen, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao, among others.
China has become the world center of transplanting and trading human
organs. In additions, China is the biggest country to export human body
specimen. It is the Chinese people's greatest sorrow and biggest shame.
The land of China is sobbing over it.

By the end of 2004, the transplant surgical department of the Tianjin
First General Hospital has performed 1500 liver transplants, 800 kidney
transplants, and numerous cornea transplants. In the year of 2004
alone, the hospital performed near 900 kidney and liver transplants. In
2005, 650 transplants were performed. It is known as the "Organ
Transplanting Center of the East." The Guangdong Pearl River Hospital
has also performed around 2000 kidney transplant surgeries within the
past ten years.

At the International Liver Transplantation Conference in July of 2005,
Huang Jiefu, the Deputy Minister of the Chinese Public Health
Department, admitted that the majority of the transplanted organs came
from inmates who had been executed. According to reports by Amnesty
International, China executes 5,000 or more people every year,
accounting for 91% of the total number of people executed around the
world.  Corrupt Chinese prison officials often steal the organs of
the inmates who have been executed without getting consent from their
families and sell them for huge profits. The Chinese people are
generally reluctant to donate their loved ones' organs, as the Chinese
culture dictates that a person's corpse shouldn't be tampered with once
he dies.

The three prisons located near the Hagensi Plastic Factory in Dalian
City have imprisoned many political dissidents and Falun Gong
Practitioners. Previously, Shenyang City was known for its vicious
Masanjia Female Labor Camp and the Big North Second Jail. The Sujiatun
Concentration Camp in Shenyang City was built underground and
specifically designed to detain Falun Gong practitioners. It started
its operation in 2001 and reached its peak in 2002 when it detained
thousands of Falun Gong practitioners from three Northeastern Chinese
provinces. Many doctors live there. There is also crematorium. Doctors
removed kidneys and other organs from the bodies of Falun Gong
practitioners when they were still alive. The atrocity is much worse
than what went on in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp run by the Nazis
more than 60 years ago.

Dr. Yuan, who presently lives in Sydney, Australia, was once a doctor
at the Surgical Department of the Shenyang Chinese Medical College
First Affiliated Hospital. He testified that the hospital had started
to perform kidney transplant surgery in the 1990's. The kidneys came
from inmates who had been executed. The hospital recently told
reporters that a kidney transplant costs 70,000 - 80,000 Yuan
(approximately US$8500-$9800) for a Chinese national and 100,000 Yuan
(approximately US$12,000) for a Chinese who lives outside of Mainland
China. The cost for a kidney transplant goes up to US$40,000 for a
foreign national from wealthy nations in the West. A liver transplant
is even more expensive and can cost as much as $60,000.

According to Dr. Hu, who once had worked at the West Hospital of the
Anshan Iron and Steel Company, confirmed that the Shenyang's Army Main
Hospital was the earliest hospital in Northwestern China to perform
kidney transplant surgery. The surgery department pledged to complete
72 kidney transplant surgeries per year. If the department was able to
meet the target, the hospital would give the department 1000 Yuan per
surgery as an extra bonus. The money was split by doctors and nurses in
the department. In order to meet its target, the department paid the
local court 3,000 Yuan for the organs of each inmate who had been
executed (and then passed the cost to the organ recipients).

At a congressional hearing held on June 27, 2001, Dr. Wang, who used to
work at the Burn Unit of the Tianjin Armed Police Hospital, testified
that between year 1988 and year 2000 the hospital had sent him to
collect the cornea and skin tissues from inmates who had just been
executed about one hundred times.

The number of inmates that China executes publicly every year is
clearly not enough to meet the large demand for donated organs in
China. At least 2844 Falun Gong practitioners are known to have died
because of the persecution against Falun Gong in Mainland China since
July 20, 1999. Because of the tight information blockade by the Chinese
Communist regime, the actual number of deaths of Falun Gong
practitioners is likely to be much, much higher. At least 6000 Falun
Gong practitioners have been sentenced to long prison terms illegally.
More than 100,000 Falun Gong practitioners have been sent to labor
camps. Several thousand Falun Gong practitioners have been detained in
mental hospitals where they were forced to take medicines that cause
permanent damage to their central nervous systems. The atrocities
committed by the Chinese Communist regime are too horrible to list one
by one.  Jiang Zeming, the former Chinese dictator, told his
underlings, "If a Falun Gong practitioner is beaten to death, it counts
as suicide." Under such a policy, it is not hard to imagine that the
Chinese Communist Party has slaughtered thousands of Falun Gong
practitioners and sold their organs for money.

We appeal to the international community, the medical establishment,
human rights organizations, and the media to investigate this matter.
We appeal globally to each patient who has received an organ from China
to find out the origin of the organ. Let's work together to stop this
mass murder rampage!
