A practitioner in China

PureInsight | April 22, 2011

[PureInsight.org] I am normally not afraid of cold weather, even after sweating on a cold winter day. This is because I have always considered myself a Falun Dafa practitioner and have not been concerned about having a cold or flu. Even when my coworkers reminded me about this, I told them not to worry about it. I have indeed been all right in the past.

One evening, on the way back home after delivering truth-clarification materials, a gust of wind blew at me. I thought to myself: this wind is so cold that it makes me almost freeze. With that thought, I immediately had the symptom of a flu after returning home. I was coughing and had a runny nose, which lasted more than three weeks. In Zhuan Falun, Master said, “We have said that good or evil comes from a person’s spontaneous thought, and the thought at that moment can bring about different consequences.” This is indeed the case. In the past, I used to work hard and get sweaty in the winter; then I would go out only wearing a shirt and there was no problem. That was because I did not think about the connection between cold weather and illness. This time, however, I acknowledged the cold wind and considered myself as an everyday person. That is how I got the “flu.”

From this experience, I realized that a practitioner’s thought is indeed critical. This is actually the difference between an everyday person and an enlightened being. When we have righteous thoughts, miracles will happen. Therefore, we have to consider everything based on the Fa and fundamentally eliminate our human notions. We can start from the basics, for example, no longer being bothered by everyday people’s dietary preferences. When working on projects to validate the Fa and save sentient beings, it is even more important to consider things from the Fa. As we continue to study the Fa and make progress, we will do better and better.
