Harmonizing Dafa

A Dafa Practitioner

PureInsight | December 23, 2010

[PureInsight.org] A group of practitioners in my city couldn’t settle down to study Fa peacefully for a period of time. This resulted in their slow pace of progress in understanding the Fa principles. It also caused a huge loss in the overall progress of clarifying the truth, defying the persecution, and saving sentient beings. The conflicts between fellow practitioners did not disappear and worsened further and further.

Master said in Zhuan Falun: “Shakyamuni was actually saying, “Different levels have different Laws, and the Law at each level isn’t the absolute Truth of the universe, but the Law at any given level does act as a guide at that level" (Zhuan Falun, The First Talk, “Different Levels Have Different Laws”). After I read this paragraph I came to understand that we are harmonizing Dafa if we cooperate with our fellow practitioners. No matter at what levels, higher or lower, all practitioners have their own understandings of the Law principles at their own levels. Their understandings are within this Universal Law and reflect their levels of Law.

Therefore, fellow practitioners must dissolve any divisions among them in order to form a firm one-body. Only then can we be united to become a stronger force to save sentient beings, to do what Master has instructed us to do, and to rescue our fellow practitioners who are under persecution. This is a way to improve both our collective and personal cultivation. Fellow cultivators! Don’t just look at other practitioners’ shortcomings. They are practitioners who are cultivating themselves and improving themselves bit by bit. Doing things by following the principles of Dafa is a practitioner’s way of cultivation.

Master taught us in the 2010 New York Fa Conference: “When human attachments collide, and people refuse to look within, with each viewing things with human thinking and looking down on the other, divisions will form over the course of time. And just like ordinary people, they will cease to get along. Instead, look at things with righteous thoughts, and if both parties can manage to search for their own shortcomings, and truly each do better, then you will see the other party change and that person will be looking for his own shortcomings. If you can do that, there won’t be any divisions coming about. Dissolving the divisions is no different. You both cultivate the same Fa, and you both have the same predestination. So if there’s something you simply can’t get over, then have a heart-to-heart discussion with the other person and really be willing to acknowledge any shortcomings of yours that he may point out. Won’t the problem be resolved, then? (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2010 New York Fa Conference”)

We are fellow cultivators. We should not reject each other or be guarded around each other. When any issue arises, we must behave according to Dafa and look inside ourselves We must ask ourselves whether we have met the criterion that Dafa has required of us to let go of all human attachments. We should not become bossy towards other practitioners because it may cause interference and damage to the whole group. We cannot form a firm one-body if we don’t harmonize Dafa. There will be a loophole if we don’t form a one-body. The old forces and evil factors will use our loopholes to bring damage to our efforts to clarify the truth, save sentient beings, and maintain a good cultivation environment. The reason why we cannot form a one-body is that we did not look at those issues based on the principle of Dafa; instead, we used human attachments to look at those issues.

Master said: “Remove your human thoughts and evil will naturally die out.”
(Hong Yin, Volume II, “Don’t Be Sad”)

The above are my personal understandings for fellow practitioners’ reference.
