Time

[PureInsight.org] Who is so
naughty as to keep turning the hands of a clock? Who is so clever to
change the tender buds into the green grasses, to wake up the water
lilies in the ponds, to dye red the green leaves of the mountain, and
to fool the stubborn bears into dreamland?

Who changes the innocent youths into gray haired elders? Who changes a
bustling city into a war-ravaged land instantly? Who edits thousand
years of history into a thin book? And who changes the land into a vast
ocean?

Ah, it is the time, free and fair. Even the Tang's law or the Han's
regulation cannot hold it back. Even high officials and eminent people
can draw it over to their sides.

Ah, time. It views all life on earth as one day, the life of the ocean an hour, and human life a second.

In this one second, what are you doing? Are you muddling along in
mediocrity? Or willfully leading a life of pleasure? Are you busy for
your unknown descendants? Or are you using this brief second to grasp
the essence of life, to defend truth and justice? Time watches us
silently, without blinking its eyes?
